About the project

I decided to build my own tool to replace the tool we had been using because nearly all of the solutions available to me had features and work flows that weren't what we were looking for. Legally, we were covered, but they used terminology or workflows that were needed in California, but not Kentucky. We also kept getting locked into an annual contract and the longer we used the other system, the more work it was going to be to get our data out. There was no simple way to export everything for instance. Cost was ultimately the deciding factor though. I was spending about $4500 a year for the tool we were using. I don't know exactly what my bill will be for storage from Amazon S3, but I'm guessing it will be closer to $300 a year. After the investment in working with Floot to build the system, we are still going to save a few thousand dollars our first year and then over 4k each additional year. FileFoxPro is a storage, compliance and transaction management tool designed for Finish Line Realty (https://louisvillerealestate.com). The system was designed with multiple levels of user accounts including admin, agents and assistants. We hope to eventually add clients to be able to download files. The system leverages Google OAuth for login. Amazon S3 for file storage. We are doing work with PDFs. Documents can be merged or split. We also built out a shout out board that takes the data and helps us celebrate those sales wins at our office meetings.
