About the project

I'd kicked around this idea for years—even started building it multiple times but kept hitting the limits of my JavaScript knowledge. Street art disappears so fast, and there was no good way to document or discover it. Finally had the skills to actually make it work. StreetArtScout maps street art and murals in real-time. Find art near you, add new discoveries, track pieces before they vanish. It turns every city into a discoverable outdoor gallery. Street art photographers are using it to plan shooting routes, and a few tourism boards have reached out about featuring our maps. Artists check the platform to see how their work is being discovered. The biggest wow moment was how quickly I could spin up and test different approaches to the mapping interface. I'd been stuck for years trying to build the perfect solution from scratch, but Floot let me prototype three different ways to handle user-submitted pins in a single afternoon. Being able to iterate that fast meant I could focus on solving the actual user experience instead of wrestling with infrastructure.
