Slidect
About the project
Inspired by the challenges of presenting, I created Slidect to address the frequent frustrations of using traditional slide remotes. As someone who enjoys delivering presentations while moving freely, I often found myself battling with a remote control that either ran out of battery or malfunctioned at the most inconvenient times. My phone, however, is always within reach, prompting me to develop an application that transforms it into a reliable presentation remote. Beyond basic slide functions, I envisioned a suite of features designed to enhance the presenting experience, including laser pointing, zoom capabilities, a timer sync, blackout mode, slide overview, public Q&A, and live reactions. This variety helps make presentations not just manageable, but also interactive and engaging for both the speaker and audience. Currently, Slidect is in its early stages. I’m sharing it with users to gather genuine feedback, learn what resonates, and identify areas for improvement and evolution. I've just completed the build and am eager to hear what people find most beneficial, so I can refine the platform further. Throughout this journey, I experienced a remarkable level of consistency and support from Floot. From conceptualization to testing and deployment, the development process felt seamless and cohesive. Each time I revisited the project, Floot offered assistance that propelled my work forward, making it feel less like solitary effort and more like a collaborative endeavor.
