Thanla
About the project
Inspired by my own journey, I started Thanla to help others maintain meaningful personal relationships in a world overloaded with distractions. Eleven years ago, I embarked on my first startup, continuing to build through various challenges, including a cancer diagnosis in 2019. During my treatment, work provided a much-needed distraction, but it also unintentionally created distance with those I cared about. When my wife turned 40 last year, I wanted to celebrate her but found myself overwhelmed and disconnected from friends I hadn't reached out to in too long. I recognized that this silence was an issue that many face, where life’s noise drowns out the voices of our loved ones. Thanla is my answer to this problem. Unlike social media, which often feels public and performative, Thanla is a private space to nurture relationships. Users can curate their closest contacts, establish their own check-in schedules, and receive gentle reminders to connect. The app offers AI-generated conversation starters and message drafts to ease communication, tracks significant dates, and suggests activities based on shared interests and budget. It's like having a personal relationship companion—calm and supportive—designed for those with hectic lives or struggles with focus, ensuring that you stay in touch with the people who matter most. So far, I’ve onboarded 58 beta testers, whose encouraging feedback has been invaluable in shaping the product. One of my proudest moments was launching the mobile version of Thanla; as a non-technical founder, transforming my idea into a real, functional app was a significant milestone. This journey reflects a new era of tech development, one where anyone with a vision can bring their dreams to life, thanks to platforms like Floot. I’m grateful for what I’ve accomplished and excited for what comes next!
