AI Play
About the project
Over the past year, AI-generated music exploded — making music creation accessible to everyone. But there was a problem: tons of songs were being made, yet very few actually reached an audience or got meaningful feedback. Communities started organizing listening parties on Discord and Twitch, but with 20+ submissions per stream, it became impossible to play everyone's songs fairly. Hosts were manually using "wheels of names" to randomize selections — it worked, but it was tedious. I thought: why not build a proper tool to streamline this? After experimenting with different platforms (and hitting scaling headaches), I discovered Floot. From day one, it just worked. So I rebuilt the tool on Floot — not just for one community, but as a shared platform for anyone hosting AI music listening parties. AI PLAY is a platform for hosting AI music listening parties and managing song submissions. It brings fun, fairness, and interactivity to the process with game-like features including Randomization Games (Memory, Roulette, Do Not Press), Playback Tools (Vinyl Player, Music Player), and a Tier List Game with Twitch poll integration so audiences can rate tracks in real time. Songs that hit S-Tier automatically get added to our 24/7 Discover Your Music Radio livestream on YouTube. Beyond listening parties, AI PLAY is growing into a broader hub for AI creatives with artist profile pages, community resources, Hall of Fame for challenge winners, and Discord discovery features. We're also experimenting with interactive games that blend audience engagement with music discovery. I've started conversations with people in the music and gaming industries about partnerships around community challenges — imagine brands putting out creative briefs, and thousands of AI artists contributing tracks managed through AI PLAY. The speed of building on Floot — both in terms of development and scaling — has been incredible. The support from the Floot team has been amazing, with every question answered in minutes. Floot is by far the best coding agent I've worked with.
