About the project

The 2010 floods in Pakistan wreaked havoc nationwide—to the point that it exposed all of our vulnerabilities in disaster preparedness and relief coordination. Pakistan is among the few countries disproportionately affected by climate change, and 2010 was the point when there was nationwide acceptance of what we needed to build in order to cope with disaster the next time it happens. This project was built in the context of the great floods of 2025, with an emphasis on coordinating real-time relief efforts between the government, civil society, and ordinary citizens. It serves as an open information portal for the common audience and mainstream media, as well as an intelligent routing system for supplies and resources that might be needed at relief camps and shelters housing those displaced from their homes. Compared with other vibe coding platforms, I think the simplicity on offer is very attractive. Floot is built to serve those without any level of coding knowledge but who might be attempting to build a more complex app. I particularly like how a task list is created by the AI agent to keep you (and itself) on track. This project was built completely on the free plan using free credits; it is about 70-80% complete and yet quite robust in its handling of complex tasks like maps and intelligent supplies routing.
