Laand
About the project
While running VEC Studio, I hired a lot of people for my team and clients. Most applications blended in with the noise, making it difficult to identify perfect-fit candidates for the roles I hired. Resumes were generic and not truly tailored to the job requirements or aligned with the hiring company's goals. But on looking deeper, some applicants had what it took to land the roles; how they applied failed them. This learning inspired me to build Laand. Laand is an AI-powered career assistant software that delivers complete Job Application Kits (JAKs) tailored to each role. First, users add all their experiences to get a detailed career summary, role recommendations, and a career growth plan. Second, users can analyze any job and get a reliable role-fit score to know how likely they are to land the job, as well as gaps they need to work on. More importantly, users get a bespoke resume that conveys the applicant's experience story in a way that aligns with a hiring company's immediate and broader needs. They also get a personalized cover letter, project ideas to complete and stand out, outreach emails, and interview prep questions. Just from announcing the problem Laand wants to solve on LinkedIn, I've gotten over 30 beta users. One user said, 'Wow, I've never thought about applying to jobs like this. Laand has opened my eyes to see why I haven't been getting follow-ups or interviews for the 100s of jobs I've applied to.' Without Floot, this idea wouldn't have come to life. I love that I can truly count on Floot as my full-time engineer for everything from brainstorming feature ideas to building the entire, production-ready product as I learn more about user needs.
