Validata
About the project
It started during college when my thesis partners and I struggled with messy research data—duplicate records, inconsistent formatting, the usual nightmare. Later, working with my parents' small realty business, I kept hearing the same frustration: how much time gets wasted cleaning spreadsheets before they're usable. I reached out to business owners on Reddit and LinkedIn and found everyone dealt with the same issues—duplicate customer records, email typos like 'gmial.com,' phone numbers in five different formats. I built Validata to solve this exact problem. Validata cleans messy data in minutes. Upload a CSV, review the changes, and download your clean file. It removes duplicates, fixes email typos, standardizes phone numbers, converts names to proper case, and offers custom cleaning for any column you specify. What takes hours manually takes minutes with Validata—it's simple, fast, and privacy-focused. Early beta users asked for a side-by-side preview comparison so they could see changes before downloading, and so we added that. Custom column cleaning where they can specify exactly which columns to clean was also added. Most importantly, users emphasized data privacy, so we strengthened our Privacy Policy: files are automatically deleted within 24 hours, we use rule-based cleaning (no AI/LLMs), and we never share data. Honestly, how much Floot handles for an all-in-one platform at such an affordable price is amazing. I'm studying law while building Validata on the side, so budget is tight. Floot gives me everything I need—hosting, analytics, responsive customer support when issues come up—without breaking the bank.
