Billing, credits, and plans
The two meters — build actions and credits — what rolls over, and what each plan includes.
Floot has two meters. Build actions meter the work your AI assistant does on your projects through the Floot connector. Credits pay for AI that Floot itself runs — image generation, and any AI features running inside your own published app. Where the difference matters, each answer below says which meter applies.

- Spent when your AI assistant works on a project through the Floot connector — one per tool call it makes. The assistant's own thinking runs on your Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor subscription, so it costs no Floot credits. Calls that fail or are cancelled are never counted, and a handful of protective calls — checking job or publish status, listing your projects, fetching a preview URL, cancelling a request, unpublishing an app — never count either.

- Spent when Floot runs the AI. Two things do that: generating images into a project, and any
@floot/aifeature running inside your own published app — a chatbot, a summarizer, an embedding search. Everything else your assistant does is metered in build actions instead.
On a shared project
Credits always come out of the project owner's balance, not the balance of whoever is chatting. That includes images generated from a collaborator's AI assistant.
Where do I see what I have left?
On the plan and usage page. It shows credits used this billing period and build actions used today.
Do credits roll over?
Yes — unused monthly credits roll over to the next month so you have more time to use them.
- You have one month to use rolled-over credits. If your billing period was Oct 25 → Nov 25, those credits are usable until Dec 25.
- Rollover credits are spent first, then your monthly quota, then bonus credits.
- A paid plan is required to use rolled-over credits.
Once your plan renews, rollover credits appear on your plan and usage page.

Existing projects are never taken away if you end up over the cap — you just cannot add more until you upgrade or free up a slot.
Older credit-ladder plans
Subscribers on one of the older credit-ladder plans keep that plan's credits, but their build actions are metered at the free limits — an old plan bought credits, not build actions. The switch page shows exactly what moving to Pro or Power would mean for your account.
What happens if I run out and upgrade mid-month?
Upgrading takes effect immediately and you only pay the prorated difference. Going from Pro to Power raises your monthly credits from 5,000 to 15,000 and your daily build actions from 1,000 to 5,000, both usable right away.
Can I buy extra credits?
Yes, from the plan and usage page. One-time top-ups start at $20, convert at $1 = 1,000 credits, and are available the moment payment clears. They require an active paid plan, are non-refundable, and expire 60 days after purchase. Top-ups add credits, not build actions — if you are running out of build actions, the fix is a higher plan.
Do I need credits to build?
No. Building through the Floot connector runs on your own Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor subscription, and Floot meters it in build actions — see Build actions. Generating images is the one exception, and it spends a small number of credits from the project owner's balance.
What happens if I cancel?
Your projects and data stay where they are. You keep building with your own AI assistant at the free plan's action limits and can spend any credits you already bought, but no new monthly credits arrive and rollover credits stop being usable. Your published app stays up while hosting credit lasts — after that a cancelled account is taken offline with no grace period, and its *.floot.app subdomain is released.
