Missing projects and accounts
"Project not found" almost always means a different Floot account. How to find which account owns a project, and how to connect your assistant to it.
A project that seems to have disappeared is almost always still there, on a different Floot account from the one you are signed in to, or from the one your AI assistant is connected to. A second account usually comes from a second Google account, another browser, or signing in with a different email from last time. Nothing is lost: the steps below find the project and line the accounts up.
Check the dashboard first
- Open your dashboard. Projects you own are under Your projects. Projects someone else owns and shared with you are under Projects shared with you.
- Turn off the Published filter next to the search box. While it is on, the list shows only published projects, and an account that has none shows "No published projects found."
- If you have many projects, use the search box.
Which account am I in, and which one owns the project?
Your account page shows the email of the account this browser is signed in to. A project belongs to the account that created it. When your assistant creates a project, that is the Floot account the assistant is connected to: the one that was signed in to floot.com in your browser when you connected it.
| On your dashboard, the project is | What it means |
|---|---|
| Under Your projects | The account you are signed in to owns it. |
| Under Projects shared with you | Another account owns it and gave you access. |
| Not listed | It is on another account. Sign out, sign in the other way you may have used (another email, Google, GitHub or Microsoft) and look at that dashboard. |
A project or preview link that will not open (you get a not-found page, or the Floot home page instead of the project) means the same thing: this browser is signed in to an account that has no access to that project.
The one case where a project really is gone is when its owner deleted it. A deleted project cannot be brought back.
My assistant says "Project not found or you don't have access"
Your assistant can open the projects of the Floot account it is connected to, and projects shared with that account, and nothing else. Two checks:
- Ask it to list your Floot projects. If the project is in the list, the assistant was using a wrong project ID: paste the project's link from your browser into the chat and ask again. If the chat keeps using the wrong ID, start a new one.
- If the project is not in the list, the assistant is connected to a different Floot account from the one that owns the project. Reconnect it as below.
You can check from the other side too. On the account page, Connected agents lists the assistants connected to the account you are signed in to, with when each was last used. If your assistant is not there, it is connected to another account.
Reconnect your assistant as the owning account
- 1
Sign in to floot.com as the owner
In the browser you use with your assistant, sign in to floot.com with the account that owns the project, and check the email on the account page.
- 2
Disconnect Floot in your assistant
Remove or disconnect Floot in the assistant's own connector settings.
- 3
Connect it again
Add Floot again. Floot's approval screen shows the email you are about to connect. If it is the wrong one, click Not you? Switch account before you click Approve.
- 4
Start a new chat
Ask the assistant to list your Floot projects. The project should now be in the list.
If connecting itself fails, see Connector troubleshooting.
The plan is on one account and the project on the other
Limits, credits and hosting follow the account, not the project. A subscription, credits and hosting balance stay with the account that bought them and are not moved between accounts.
- The project is on the paid account. Connect your assistant to that account, as above, and it works at the paid limits.
- The project is on the free account. You can keep building there at the free limits. Sending a project or adding a collaborator needs a paid plan on the account that owns the project, so a free account cannot hand its project over by itself: contact support with both email addresses.
- You have not paid yet. Use the upgrade link in your assistant's limit message. It shows which account your assistant is connected to — see Your account.
A project says it is out of credits, but my own balance is fine
Credits always come out of the project owner's balance, not the balance of whoever is working on the project. On a project shared with you, the owner is the one who has to add credits — see Billing, credits, and plans.
Can two accounts be merged?
No, accounts are never merged. If the second account was a mistake and has nothing on it, changing your main account's email to that address closes the empty one. Otherwise, move the projects you want to keep with Send Project — see Sharing your projects — and keep using one account. The email change is described in Your account.
